Embark from Athens, the cradle of European civilization, after exploring legendary landmarks like the Temple of Olympian Zeus, Ancient Agora, Arch of Hadrian, and the Acropolis. Chania, a modern city built over the ancient ruins of Kydonia on the Island of Crete, is next. A late stay means more time to visit ancient ruins and Byzantine churches. Then it’s on to Katakolon, Greece, home of Olympia and its stadium, temples, and monuments dating back to 776 BC.
A late stay on the Island of Corfu follows, where the entire Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, then a day in the stone wall-enclosed city of Kotor, Montenegro follows. After passing through the 16th century Sea Gate, a climb up 1,350 steps to the upper wall will be well worth the infinite stunning views that await, or explore the many churches, shops, bars, restaurants, and hidden piazzas.
Dubrovnik, Croatia—known as the Pearl of the Adriatic—is next, where you can discover charming squares and structures dating to the 7th century, and peruse stalls in the Old Town for fine shoes, leather, jewelry, and more. Your voyage concludes with two days and an overnight in Venice. Stroll the cobblestone streets, overarching bridges, and world-famous canals—and maybe stay a few more days.
Day by day itinerary
After enjoying complimentary airport-lounge access, you’ll fly out direct to Athens where a private vehicle will transfer you to your hotel, the Radisson Blu Park, for a two night stay on a RO basis.
Maybe take an archaeological walk past landmarks like the Temple of Olympian Zeus, Ancient Agora, and of course, the Acropolis. Afterwards, head to the Central Market for a feast of fresh fruit and veggies, nuts, olives, and Grecian cheese. Finally, check out a local taverna where you can rub elbows with the locals well into the wee hours of the night. The city is your to explore, or contact us for bespoke tours and excursions.
Check out of the hotel and take your included private transfer to the port of Piraeus to embark the Azamara Pursuit.
Venetian splendor gives Crete's second largest city a distinctly Italian air. Greek and Ottoman influences add to the city's unique history and culture—each era certainly worth exploring. Framed by a dramatic mountain backdrop, Chania is an exceptional destination for history buffs, with plenty of tavernas and cafés to recharge after a day of discovery.
The quaint seaside town of Katakolon has many charms, but let’s be honest: You’re going to want to head to Olympia. Located just a 40-minute drive away, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is the site of the original Olympic Games, dates back to 776 BC, and has excellent companion museums like the Archaeological Museum of Olympia and the Museum of the History of the Ancient Olympic Games.
It's one of the most popular Greek Isles for good reason. Explore the cobblestoned streets of Old Town in search of handcrafted treasures or while away they day on a sandy beach in town, or head out to the charming countryside. Here you'll find olive groves, lemon trees, and and rugged cliffs that are more than postcard-worthy.
A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Kotor is filled with churches, shops, bars, restaurants, and hidden piazzas. (The latter are perfect for enjoying Montenegrin wines like the red Vranac or dry white Krstač.) The entire city is surrounded by stone, both in the form of imposing Mount Saint John and by towering ancient walls, creating a cozy feeling of protection when you walk the cobblestone streets.
From the moment you step beyond the stonewalls that protects Dubrovnik, you’ll understand what makes it so special. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is adorned with charming squares and centuries-old red-roofed buildings. Walk the walls for a spectacular view of the city, and if anything looks familiar, it’s probably because Dubrovnik is the home of King’s Landing on HBO’s Game of Thrones.
Experience Venice, one of the most captivating—and romantic—cities in the world. Tour the city’s cobblestone streets and overarching bridges, or take to the water and explore the canals on a water taxi or gondola. As you make your way through the city, you’ll find plenty of opportunities to shop, sample delicious Veneto wines, or people watch in Piazza San Marco. Stay overnight on board and explore the city after dark.
Debark on the second day and take your private included transfer to the airport for your flight to the UK.
