Day by day itinerary

Day 1 — Venice Simplon-Orient-Express to Venice

Journey on the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express from London for a luxurious overnight trip to Venice, where you arrive late afternoon the next day.

Board the Belmond British Pullman train at London Victoria. Sit backing your reserved seat and enjoy a delicious brunch and an indulgent Bellini as you travel through the countryside of Kent. After crossing the channel, board the famed Venice Simplon-Orient-Express train where you will enjoy a sumptous four-course dinner, prepared freshly on board by French chefs.

After dinner, retire to your cabin which has been transformed into a cosy bedroom.

Day 2 — Venice, Italy
Venice Mask

Marvel at the magnificent mountain countryside scenery as you enjoy breakfast served in your cabin. Spend the morning relaxing in the Bar Car or in your cabin as you enjoy the view passing by. Head to the restaurant car for your three-coure lunch, and later feast on on a selcetion of pastries served in your cabin.

The Venice Simplon-Orient-Express finally crosses the Venitian Lagoon and pulls into Santa Lucia Station in Venice.

Debark the train and take your private boat transfer to the 5-star Baglioni Hotel Luna for an overnight night stay on a room-only basis.

Venice is a city unlike any other. No matter how often you've seen it in photos and films, the real thing is more dreamlike than you could imagine. With canals where streets should be, water shimmers everywhere. The fabulous palaces and churches reflect centuries of history in what was a wealthy trading center between Europe and the Orient. Getting lost in the narrow alleyways is a quintessential part of exploring Venice, but at some point you'll almost surely end up in Piazza San Marco, where tourists and locals congregate for a coffee or an aperitif.

Check out of the Baglioni Hotel Luna and take your included private boat transfer to the port to embark the ship.

Day 4 — Trieste, Italy

Trieste is a city and seaport in northeastern Italy. It is situated towards the end of a narrow strip of Italian territory lying between the Adriatic Sea and Slovenia, which lies almost immediately south and east of the city. Trieste is located at the head of the Gulf of Trieste and throughout history it has been influenced by its location at the crossroads of Latin, Slavic, and Germanic cultures. In 2009, it had a population of about 205,000[1] and it is the capital of the autonomous region Friuli Venezia Giulia and Trieste province. Trieste is a city in North-East Italy. Once a very influential and powerful centre of politics, literature, music, art and culture under Austrian-Hungarian dominion, its importance fell into decline towards the end of the 20th century, and today, Trieste is often forgotten as tourists head off to the big Italian cities like Rome and Milan. It is, however, a very charming underestimated city, with a quiet and lovely almost Eastern European atmosphere, several pubs and cafes, some stunning architecture and a beautiful sea view. It was also, for a while, the residence of famous Irish writer James Joyce.

Day 5 to 6 — Piran, Slovenia
Skyline of Catania and its harbor with snowy volcano Etna

Skyline of Catania and its harbor with snowy volcano Etna

Piran may be the most beautiful of Slovenia's coastal towns. It is perched on a tiny piece of land jutting into the sea. It has the feeling of being more like an Italian coastal town, without all the tourists. Piran was part of the Venetian empire from the late 13th century to the end of the 18th century and also had some influence from Austria-Hungary Empire. We have excellent reviews when guests participate in the adventure to see the Lipizzaner Horses as well as the walking exploration.

Day 7 — Optija, Croatia

Opatija is a tranquil resort sometimes referred to as “Croatian Monte Carlo” on the sheltered east coast of the Istrian peninsula of Croatia. This village is a complete contrast to the dry Dalmatian coastal towns further south. Green hillsides give way to gardens and parks full of exotic plants down by the ocean. This town was developed in the 1880s specifically as a chic resort. Its mild climate and stunning setting made it a favorite winter destination for the 19th century Austrian and Hungarian aristocracy. Most of the hotels in town were constructed from this period. Opatija's highly jagged and rocky coast is bordered by a shady promenade, the Lungomare, which extends for 12km to the picturesque village of Lovran. Along the way, there are dozens of picturesque secluded coves to stretch out a towel along the rocks and jump into the sea.

Day 8 — Zadar

Welcome to the Dalmatian Coast. Zadar is the oldest inhabited city in Croatia, and dates back to 59 BC when the city was a Roman municipality featuring traditional Roman infrastructure and early urban planning. The city’s modern history includes major transformations during World War II and during the 1990’s during the country’s war of independence. Enjoy the beautiful streets, amazing architecture, and beautiful culture that the city had to offer.

Day 9 — Vis Island, Croatia

This island holds a host of accolades from being the oldest town in Croatia and hosting the oldest regatta in Europe, to featuring some of the most beautiful beaches in the country. With a picturesque coastline, it is easy to see why Vis was selected as the backdrop for the 2018 feature film “Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.” The farthest inhabited island off the Croatian mainland, Vis has an interesting cultural heritage after being secluded from foreign visitors up until the late 1980s. This history of isolation has been key in keeping the island pure, making Vis an ideal destination for those seeking authenticity.

Day 10 to 11 — Dubrovnik, Croatia

Dubrovnik (Pearl of the Adriatic) is one of the most prominent destinations in the Adriatic Sea. It lies in the region of Dalmatia and was awarded World Unesco Heritage status in 1979. The population is approximately 43,000 and is considered to be among the 10 best medieval walled cities in the world. SeaDream anchors off the walled city as a port of call and tenders directly to the town gate. If you check the land adventures here, you will find that there are many different excursions to consider in this incredible town. Dubrovnik is also an embarkation point on select voyages. On these occasions, the yacht is docked at the cruise terminal.

Debark the ship on your second day and take your included private transfer to the airport for your flight to the UK.
