Day by day itinerary
Fly overnight on British Airways to Cape Town
Upon arrival in Cape Town, transfer by private car to the hotel. After settling into your room, enjoy dinner on your own before spending the night at the hotel.
During the fist part of our day, we’ll visit a place that needs no introduction with regards to its significance in South Africa’s and indeed the world’s history: Robben Island. We’ll have a guided tour of the island and its cells, given by one of its former prisoners. We’ll return to Cape Town for lunch on the waterfront. Afterwards, we’ll visit the Groot Constantia Estate, considered the oldest vineyard in South Africa. For the past 300 years, agricultural activities at Groot Constantia have focused on wine making, and the Constantia wines have become renowned throughout Europe. We’ll visit the cellar followed by a tasting. We’ll have dinner and spend the night at the hotel.
Today, we’ll set out for the legendary Cape of Good Hope. We’ll ride along Chapman’s Peak Drive, located on the Atlantic coast of the southwestern tip of South Africa. The narrow stretch of land, dotted with beautiful valleys, bays and beaches, contains a mix of extraordinarily diverse and unique fauna and flora. We’ll take the famous Flying Dutchman funicular to the summit to see the old lighthouse and relish the panoramic views. We’ll have lunch before discovering the penguin colony near Simon’s Town. Once called Jackass Penguins, they are famous for their hilarious braying call. We’ll have dinner and spend the night at the hotel.
You’ll be transferred to the airport and fly to Johannesburg.
Departure by coach towards Soweto, which came to the world's attention in 1976 with the Soweto Uprising, when mass protests erupted over the government's policy to enforce education in the Afrikaans language rather than English. It has been estimated that one-third of Johannesburg’s population lives in Soweto. All eleven of South Africa’s official languages are spoken here. It is a community of extremes: on the one hand there is abject poverty, and on the other hand there is extraordinary wealth in the suburbs such as Diepkloof Extension and Selection Park. We’ll have lunch before setting out on a panoramic tour to discover Freedom Park and the unique atmosphere in this well-known neighbourhood. We’ll have dinner and spend the night at a four-star hotel LS.
We’ll fly from Johannesburg to Kasane, Botswana where you’ll be transferred from the airport to board the luxury ship, the African Dream.
Enjoy lunch after a welcome cocktail. Our first nature and wildlife cruise will be to observe the different species along the Kasai Channel. Afterwards, we’ll return to our private mooring in the heart of the Chobe River. We’ll have dinner and spend the night onboard.
We’ll journey out on our first safari today in Jeeps equipped exclusively with misters for the comfort of our guests. We’ll explore the Chobe National Park that is home to more than 1/4 of the total elephant population in Africa. We’ll have lunch before spending the afternoon cruising to the Zambezi River, marking the border between Zambia and Namibia. In the afternoon, we’ll leave on small motor boats for a water safari in search of the larger animals. You’ll enjoy a unique, up-close experience with the wildlife that lives on the banks from just a few yards away. We’ll have dinner and spend the night on board.
We’ll spend the day cruising to Kabulabula. The Chobe National Park has a myriad of swamps, flooded plains, lakes and rivers, making this cruise the ideal and most-adapted way to set out on unforgettable tours. Along the entire route, you’ll discover some of the richest pockets of wildlife in Africa, including zebras, water buffalos, antelopes and an abundance of birds. We’ll have dinner and spend the night on board.
This morning we’ll disembark the ship and leave on an early water safari to try to catch more than a glimpse of the major game animals. We’ll have lunch in our “floating restaurant” in the middle of the river and feast on some local delicacies. We’ll then leave for the lodge.
As we travel, we'll see Sedudu Island and its marshes, overflowing with abundant wildlife such as hippopotami, Cape buffalo and crocodiles.
After we arrive at CroisiEurope’s lodge, and you’ll check into your rooms. We’ll have dinner and spend the night at the lodge.
- Deluxe lodge in the heart of the wilderness
- 8 spacious bungalows with authentic decor
- High-quality comfort for a refined safari ambience
- Infinity pool offers an unobstructed view
In the morning, we’ll leave for a visit to the local school to meet the teachers and students. This will be a truly unique face-to-face experience that will enrichen your travels. We’ll return to the lodge for lunch. Enjoy some free time this afternoon to take advantage of the activities proposed at the lodge or spend the time relaxing under the trees or by the pool. After dinner tonight, let a local storyteller entrance you with the mysterious legends of the region. We’ll spend the night at the lodge
This morning, join us for a trip to an authentic village to discover the culture and customs of the area. We’ll meet the locals and learn about traditional Namibian houses. After lunch at the lodge, join us for some activities delving into local customs. Dinner will be served under the stars this evening, a truly wonderful way to experience the African skies. We’ll spend the night at the lodge.
We’ll leave by coach for Victoria Falls and on an exceptional lunch cruise. This afternoon, we’ll leave for a tour on foot of the falls in Zimbabwe, where the views are among the most exceptional in the world. We’ll also see where the Zambezi River plunges over the cliff to become the widest waterfall in the world, creating the “smoke that thunders.” Tonight we’ll enjoy a “Boma” dinner with traditional dance and music. We’ll spend the night at a four-star hotel LS.
Enjoy breakfast and check out of the hotel.
Enjoy an optional early morning excursion where you can soar over Victoria Falls in a helicopter, or take your private transfer to the airport for your flight on British Airways, arriving the next day to Heathrow.
