Like its sister ship the Star Breeze, the Star Legend will be launched for its debut voyage in May 2015 following an extensive renovation. The launch will complete Windstar's trinity of identical ships, specially designed and decorated to give guests an experience that is informative but entertaining, sophisticated but informal, focusing on ports and destinations that are slightly different or that other, bigger ships, can’t access.
Passengers can expect tastefully and comfortably decorated rooms, all with ocean views and some of which include private balconies. The small passenger capacity means there is an intimate feel, where guests can interact on a more personal level with their fellow voyagers and crew. There are several eating options and bars, a spa and a library, as well as a lively casino and access to water sports platforms at various ports.

The Candles Grill provides a casual counterpoint to AmphorA in the evenings. During the day, under the name of Veranda, it serves tempting buffet breakfasts and lunches.
Snacks and a light buffet spread are available by the pool during the day.
Watersports for the adventurous, a casino for the risk takers, a screening room for the chillers and live music for the dancers.
A visit to the WindSpa will give guests every bit of pampering they need, from the beauty salon to the massage room to the whirlpools.
Knowledgeable staff give talks before guests disembark at each port, informing them of local history, culture and more.
Beyond the entertainments available on the ship, many more land excursions may be arranged through the concierge, from historical walks to tough hikes.
