Silversea Cruises announce $170 million refurbishment plan
Silversea Cruises has announced a $170 million fleet refurbishment plan, commencing with Silver Whisper that will take place by the end of 2016.
Taking a steer from their loyal guests, Silversea Whisper’s suites will be refurbished and the bathrooms will be fitted with new dark marble flooring. The public rooms and spaces will not miss out, with the pool area getting new tiles along with new chaise lounges. The Restaurant and La Terrazza will receive new carpet and hard-wood parquet flooring respectively, and both will receive new furniture. The ship will also benefit from new technology enabling faster internet speeds as well as new interactive TV’s and on-demand entertainment.
Silver Wind will enter dry-dock in October 2016, and will also receive the technology upgrades, along with public room refurbishments and new flooring in dining venues La Terrazza and The Restaurant . The pool area will have with new teak decking added too.
For the Expedition fleet, Silver Discoverer will also enter dry dock in October 2016, and will benefit from a remodelled Restaurant, with lighter more contemporary colours, and the pool grill will obtain new furniture. The Discoverer Lounge will go through a transformation from breakfast venue to a lounge in which to relax, read and reflect on the day’s excursions. New AV technology will be added to the Explorer Lounge to enhance the ships lectures, along with new furniture.
