Silver Spirit to be stretched by 49 feet

Silversea cruises has revealed plans for its first-ever ship lengthening to transform the company’s 2009-built Silver Spirit. The ship will be lengthened by inserting a pre-built 49-foot-long midsection consisting of 6 Silver Suites, 26 Veranda Suites and 2 Panorama Suites.

The works will take place at Fincantieri’s Palermo shipyard in early March.

Other enhancements to Silver Spirit will be inspired by the flagship Silver Muse, and will include the addition of new dining areas including Seishin and La Dame and updated décor. Enhancements will also be made to existing suites, the public spaces and outdoor areas. The main lounge will be extended and renamed Dolce Vita, to mirror the lounge on Silver Muse. Plus, the new Zagara spa will be the perfect place to unwind.

“Based on the wonderful feedback from guests sailing aboard our beautiful Silver Muse, we believe the comprehensive makeover we have planned for Silver Spirit will enrich the onboard experience and be equally appreciated by guests,” Christian Sauleau, Executive Vice President of Fleet Operations for Silversea Cruises, said.
