Seabourn to build two ultra-luxury expedition ships

Seabourn announced that it has signed a Letter of Intent for the construction of two new ultra-luxury expedition ships.

The new ships will be a brand new innovative design, created specifically for the ultra-luxury expedition traveller, and will include many features that have made Seabourn ships so successful as well as a host of unique features designed to enhance the expedition experience.

Seabourn will announce design and service details for the new ships later this year.

Specific details about itineraries and booking availability will be released in early 2019. The first ship is currently planned to sail in the Arctic in late summer 2021, with a full winter season in Antarctica to follow.

The ships will also be designed to carry a complement of kayaks and 24 Zodiac inflatable boats, which have operated as a part of the highly successful Ventures by Seabourn programme offered in select destinations around the world.

Onboard crew will include outstanding and well-travelled expedition teams comprised of experienced wilderness experts, scientists, historians and Zodiac operators. During each sailing, team members regularly interact with guests, providing keen insight to deliver a rich holistic travel experience. These fascinating, accomplished experts are also part of the Seabourn Conversations programme, providing in-depth insights into the history, ecology and culture of the places they visit. Their valuable insights are offered both in complimentary formal presentations on a variety of topics and in more casual conversations over meals or at leisure.
