San Pedro Waterfront to be redeveloped

The Harbour Commission of Los Angeles have agreed to allow officials from the Port of Los Angeles to enter into negotiations with a collaboration of development companies in order to redevelop the 30-acre Ports O'Call Village.

The 30-acre location is part of San Pedro's main waterfront property and the redevelopment is set to include a mix of visitor-focused commercial retail and dining outlets, a boutique hotel and conference centre. The plans that were submitted by the LA Waterfront Alliance have also suggested relocating the Ports administration building, although final plans will be revealed after a 240-day negotiating period.

Developed in 1960, Ports O' Call Village is located south of San Pedro's historic business district and is located within walking distance to the Port's World Cruise Centre. The Port of Los Angeles is one of the premier shipping ports in America and has always had a strong commitment to developing innovative and sustainable operation that benefit the economy as well as the quality of life for the region.
