Queen Victoria Cruise Review

It made the ship feel so elegant.
The chandeliers particularly in the Queen’s Room, were beautiful and it had a large dance floor with balcony and it was always very popular in the evenings. It was here that white-gloved waiters served traditional Afternoon Tea daily.
When you walked into the Royal Court Theatre on Queen Victoria it was hard to believe you were on a cruise ship as it was so large with 10 boxes. Wherever you sat you had a good view of the large stage. The 12 resident dancers and 4 singers were extremely good and the shows were definitely the best we have seen at sea. The guest artists, singer, pianist, guitarist, ventriloquist, etc. were all of a very high standard.

The food line in the Lido buffet restaurant was much better arranged on Queen Victoria than the one on Queen Mary 2. It was open 24 hours and there was always a very good choice of food. The selection of fresh fruit at breakfast was particularly inviting. The Pizza and Pasta station at lunch time was always very popular as they were made to order. The seating arrangement was also good as the tables and chairs had a good space between them and they were always cleared and cleaned very quickly.
The food in the two tier Bntannia restaurant was of a very high standard and the waiters were always willing to arrange an alternative dish if you did not fancy something on the menu.

There was a wide choice of bars from the Golden Lion pub, full of atmosphere, which served pub food including Fish and Chips at lunchtime — always very popular. There were wonderful views from the Commodore bar at the top of the ship where a pianist played in the evening, It was the perfect setting for pre-dinner drinks which were served with canapés.

The Winter Garden, with a glass roof that was opened when the weather was warm, was a lovely place to sit and read a book and here they served a lovely selection of freshly squeezed fruit juices and smoothies.

We were very impressed with the way the tenders were organised; it seemed more efficient than other ships.

To sum up, it really was the best ship we have sailed on; it was so elegant with excellent service throughout. We can hardly wait to book another cruise.
Yours sincerely
Ron and Carole Fox
