Queen Elizabeth meets Queen Mary in historic rendezvous

Amidst fireworks and a bit of pomp and circumstance, Cunard Line's Queen Elizabeth met Queen Mary in a historic Royal Rendezvous. Passengers, maritime enthusiasts and loyal Cunarders alike gathered along the shores of Long Beach Harbour to witness the unique occasion.

The Queen Mary in Long Beach, California

The Royal Rendezvous marks Queen Mary's first meeting with a vessel named Queen Elizabeth since 1967 when she passed the original ship during her final Transatlantic crossing. During Cunard's legendary history, the iconic Queen Mary epitomized the Golden Age of Ocean Travel and served as a Cunard liner for more than 30 years. She was retired from service in 1967 and is permanently docked in Long Beach, California as a floating hotel, museum and tourist attraction.
