Paul Gauguin Cruises wins Facebook award
Paul Gauguin Cruises has won another travel award - this time for social media. Earlier in the year it ran a campaign called "Meet Me in Tahiti" - a facebook micro site that gave visitors the opportunity to experience a virtual holiday in just five minutes - all from the comfort of their desk or home.
Visitors to the page chose three Facebook friends to accompany them on their virtual vacation, creating bespoke postcards enjoying exciting activities such as snorkelling with sting rays, kayaking in a lagoon, riding on off-road jeep safaris, or relaxing on a private beach. Users could then post their postcards to Facebook for all their friends and others to see.
Paul Gauguin Cruises operates the highest-rated and longest continually sailing luxury cruise ship in the South Pacific, the m/s Paul Gauguin.
The travel award was part of Travel + Leisure Social Media in Travel and Tourism Award in the cruise line category for "Best Single Social Media Promotion"
Paul Gauguin Cruises partnered with social media agency Banyan Branch to design and implement the successful "Meet Me in Tahiti" campaign.
