Oberoi Zahra Egypt Cruise
You never know what God (or a fate) prepared for you - in our case to start with it looked as a small disaster when I have booked by mistake our Oberoi Zahra suite cruise a year forward - to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary - you remember the confusion !
Well - it seemed then that that Egyptians went into the riot when they have learnt we are not coming! - So we have decided not to cancel due to riots/social unrest as we have felt we have contributed to it -although unintentionally!
Indeed we have been rewarded very generously going to Egypt right now for many reasons - to start with there were no crowds anywhere - FANTASTIC! It looked like having sites like Abu Simbel or Edfu Horus temple for yourself. Then the ship was half empty & the crew was spoiling us with impeccable service.
As one of the main objectives of that trip, apart celebration - was to see from close the ancient Egyptian Civilisation - again, as so few people were on Oberoi Zahra - we have been in a group of four with our Egyptologist guide & he has been adjusting our trips in a bespoke way to optimise it with our interests & expectations.
Least but not last - we think that sympathising with Egyptian revolution is not enough - apart our moral & political support - they also need us to contribute as far as we can to their economy & as tourism is their most important source of income - so we are indeed feeling very, very comfortable that we have not cancelled.
Overall - it was an unforgettable journey, your travel associate Sakkara Travel were excellent at every place - their reps were waiting for us everywhere & we were whisked through all checks very smoothly - we have really felt pampered Tony!
Thank you for an unforgettable journey & with kindest regards - Gregory & Yolanta
