Oasis of the Seas to visit Southampton in 2014

Today Royal Caribbean International announced that the one of the largest cruise ships in the world, Oasis of the Seas, will visit the port of Southampton in Autumn 2014.

The 225,282 ton cruise ship is set to sail from its homeport in Fort Lauderdale in early September to Barcelona, from where she will sail on two, five-night, round-trip voyages from Barcelona before setting sail on a seven-night voyage to the Netherlands, where she will undergo routine maintenance.

Following this, the 6,400 passenger vessel will set sail from Rotterdam on October 14, on a thirteen-day transatlantic voyage back to the United States, which will include a call into Southampton on October 15, where UK guests will be able to join the ship as she makes her way back to Fort Lauderdale.

When Oasis of the Seas visits the port, she will be 40% larger than any other cruise ship to visit the historic maritime city.

Reservations for the European sailings are due to open on April 11, 2013.
