Mystical Mayan cruise review on Seven Seas Navigator

Everything was perfect and thank you for the chocolate strawberries awaiting our arrival on embarkation day. Little touches go a long way.

Flights and transfers (9 out of 10)

Booked own flights using mileage. BA club world on new A380. Loses a point as my seat vibrated.... a lot!

Embarkation (7 out of 10)

Fairly long wait at hotel for coach transfer. Think it was first come first served as opposed to suites first, inside cabin last. I only say this as higher priced cabins were supposed to have priority boarding. But once at the port all went fairly smoothly as only 490 passengers to deal with.

Cabins/Suites (9 out of 10)

Cabin was huge for a standard cabin. Could do with a facelift but I know this is imminent. Huge bathroom, well stocked. Excellent service from cabin steward. My main complaint this cruise was the butler. He was utterly useless. Apart from delivering afternoon canapes he did nothing. We asked him to reserve a 2nd Prime Seven reservation and after 4 days he advised he wasn’t able to do this. WE went to see the Maître d and booked it ourselves without any problems. Upon leaving the ship he was in the cabin opposite, the door was open. He turned to look at us and turned his back deliberately ignoring us. The butler is the only reason this category does not score a perfect 10.

Food and dining (10 out of 10)

The dining made this cruise special. Absolutely outstanding food every day. We ate in each venue and were extremely happy.

Public Rooms (9 out of 10)

Loses a point as needs updating. Other wise we were pleased with ships facilities.

Onboard Service (9 out of 10)

Staff were fantastic. Friendly, helpful and polite. Just what you’d expect from a premium cruise line. I would say they were well looked after by Regent and are happy doing their jobs. Loses a point for the rude butler.

Itinerary and ports of call (9 out of 10)

Nice to take a cruise where every port is new to us. Best port...Grand Cayman (swimming with stingrays ), worst port Guatemala (river cruise to see a fort....pretty boring )

Shore Excursion (8 out of 10)

Shore excursions included, so all "free". Well organised, friendly staff. Very good English speaking guides. All tours as expected really.
