Meet Crystal Cruise Director Rick Spath

Rick has been at sea for over 33 years and first became a Cruise Director in 1984. 2012 marked his eleventh world voyage, and he always enjoys travelling to all four corners of the globe with Crystal Cruises.

Rick is originally from New Jersey, but now hails from Charlotte, North Carolina, which is where he spends the majority of his time ashore playing golf and catching up with his four children and his wife, of whom he met whilst working aboard Holland America Line cruise ships.

Rick’s long career at sea began in the late 1970’s with Cunard, before transferring to other lines including Holland America and Disney - where he was honoured to be named as the first cruise director for the company. He loves to socialise and spend time with guests and always endeavours to go the extra mile and offer the exceptional level of service that Crystal Cruises are renowned for.
