Meet Andrew Samuel Chief Concierge for Crystal Cruises
At an early age, Andrew and his family swapped the scenery in Wales, UK for that in Perth, Australia, where he now has the good fortune to call home. After completing school, Andrew decided to follow in his father’s footsteps and went on to study engineering in higher education. Following this, he enrolled in a regional hotel school, which is where he discovered his niche in life.
The hospitality industry allowed Andrew to travel and live in many countries around the world, including New Zealand, South America and Europe, before joining Crystal Cruises in 2002.
During his eleven years with the company, Andrew has filled positions as a bar waiter, purser, concierge and now chief concierge. Andrew believes in going "the extra mile" for the guest, something of which follows the brand outlines of Crystal Cruises.
Did you know that in a first for the cruise industry, Crystal’s concierges were the first to be accepted into the prestigious Union International des Concierges d’Hotels and be awarded the "Les Clef d’Or" (keys of gold). Each member of the concierge team aboard Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphony wear the signature gold crossed golden keys to symbolise their knowledge and expertise.
