Flights and transfers - All went well enough. Monarch food poor - why such stale rolls? Unfortunately a lot of suitcases were allowed to get very wet at Gatwick in the heavy rain. We did not have to collect our cases at Athens airport they went directly to the ship, a definite bonus

Pre cruise hotels - The Hilton at Gatwick suited the purpose

Embarkation - Held on the bus (acceptable) so actual embarkation fine. Luggage always seems slow to arrive in cabin

Cabins & Suites - Good size poor layout, cramped bathroom, adequate storage, appreciated the kettle, the sunbeds on the balcony, the evening canapés, turn down service. Stewardess did the job no more. Cabin not worth the money but brilliant as a free upgrade.

Food & Dining - Breakfasts and lunches were fine although tended on the chaotic at times. Too many guests with sticks waiters lacked supervision. Dinners disappointing & desserts - Peach Melba with tinned peaches, banana split.

Entertainment - Lots of lectures but all 4 lecturers historians. A small operatic group sang after supper on 4 nights, 1 after dinner film (Argo), 1 lecture, 1 cruise show. No entertainment on other nights.

Public Rooms -  Good comfortable library, a little small. Main room, the Darwin Lounge, had a mix of very comfortable seating & less good. Bars Ok.  Everywhere clean.

Onboard Service - Not the level of service we are used to - Staff pleasant but not overly motivated or supervised. Staff seemed to disappear in the afternoons. Did not see any service on the sun deck.

Itinerary and ports of call -. The itinerary was one of the main attractions and we enjoyed them all. First visit to Dalmation Coast

Shore Excursions - All but one tour (Capo de Monte) at no extra cost. Roughly 30 in a group. Guides good or very good.
