Cunard Fleet to Celebrate Diamond Jubilee
The three Cunard ships will approach Southampton soon after dawn; this will be the first time that the three ships will be seen in formation at Southampton. They will cruise in single file up the Solent, with a flotilla of small boats expected to welcome them in.
As Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria dock at their respective cruise terminals, Queen Mary 2 will sail past, with the ships officers and crew lining the outside decks of all three vessels, and the ships' whistles sounding in salute of Her Majesty's Jubilee.
Celebratory events will be taking place all day, culminating in a spectacular fireworks display as all three ships meet in the Solent. Then the three Queens will set sail on their Jubilee voyages
Her Majesty has long been associated with Cunard, being the only person to have attended the naming of all three of Cunards "Queen Elizabeths", beginning in 1938.
