Crystal Cruises to spend $17 million on make over of Crystal Serenity
Crystal Cruises is planning on spending $17 million on its luxury cruise ship, Crystal Serenity.
Due for refurbishment in November 2013 during a planned dry dock, the renovations include:-
Crystal Penthouses - These 1,345 square feet suites will be completely gutted and remodelled. The dining space will move closer to the veranda doors and outdoors balcony, whilst in its place will be a library and media room, featuring a queen sized sleeper sofa and closet. A new shower will be installed in the guest bathroom, and the living room and butler pantry will be renovated. The master bedroom will have new bedding, drapes, and seating area. The new bathroom will feature a walk-in glass shower and two flat screen televisions, one embedded in the mirror and another by the Jacuzzi. In the main living area, a further three flat screen TVs will be installed, including a 3D version, complete with surround sound, Ipod docking station and increased wall sockets.
Lido Deck - Four "living walls" will be installed surrounding the Trident lounge area, and the spacious Lido Deck will be refurbished with natural stone, wrought iron and a number of blue hues. The indoor pool will be removed and the ice cream bar will locate to the trident grill. Additional sofas will be installed along with an open kitchen and a new cocktail bar. The Lido Café will feature new food islands, increased tables for two, and a freshly baked goods galley.
Crystal Cruises will have spent $120 million on the extreme makeover of its two ships, Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphony, in recent years
Crystal Serenity's first voyage after completing dry dock will be a 12-night 27th November Lisbon to Barcelona cruise through the Canary Islands, followed by a Transatlantic crossing to the Americas, a Christmas/New Year voyage in the Caribbean and the annual World Cruise, an 89-night ultimate luxury adventure from Los Angeles to Southampton, starting 18th January.
