Compagnie du Ponant announces Northern Lights voyage
French cruise-operator Compagnie du Ponant are to operate a voyage from Greenland to Quebec which will hopefully include a viewing of the Northern Lights.
The 15-day voyage aboard Le Boréal will take place on what is believed to be the height of the 11-year solar cycle, therefore maximising the possibility that guests will be able to view the solar spectacle.
Le Boréal will depart from Kangerlussuaq in Greenland on September 5 and is to explore the rocky highlands and fjords in the northernmost territory of Canada. Other highlights include whale watching in the Baffin ea and a visit to the remote Akpatok Island, which is home to white bears.
