Celebrity Cruises Celebrity Eclipse Ship Visit

It was a lovely, sunny day when we escorted our 14 The Luxury Cruise Company VIP’s around the new Celebrity Eclipse from Celebrity Cruises in Southampton

After we all met in the reception area we were escorted through security and boarded the ship ready to start our tour. Our guide was Stuart Pearce who is also our account manager and he provided many facts and figures about Celebrity Eclipse as we went round. We started in the main atrium, where the Guest Services and Tour desk are located. This is a great soaring space with lots of natural light. What we did notice around the ship was the use of natural light and the amount of space there was. Celebrity have paid great attention to detail on little touches around the ship and in the design - from space-saving curved beds to foot rails in the showers for ladies to shave their legs!

The public rooms were all tastefully decorated and not over-the-top that you can sometimes get on large, new cruise ships. The main theatre was equipped with trapeze and wires for a Cirque-du-Soliel style show, and the main dining room had a soaring tower that is also the wine cellar.

One of the highlights of the ship is the real grass up on deck - and quite a lot of it too - a number of our VIP guests commented that they had not expected there to be quite so much grass. This area is available for picnics and lawn games and was a really lovely part of the ship - very different and tended to by a full time lawns man to ensure its kept in pristine condition.

We were also very impressed by the alternative dining options, the Q-Sine dining concept particularly stood out as a very innovative and different approach to an evening meal.

After a delicious lunch in the main dining room we said our goodbyes and made our way to the gangway - envious of the all the embarking guests!
