Celebrity Announce new Galapagos Ship – Celebrity Flora

Celebrity Cruises have announce the introduction of their first new, purpose built ship for the Galapagos – Celebrity Flora

Celebrity Flora marks an evolutionary turning point in the approach to ship design by allowing the destination and its environment to inspire and influence every decision made. From the luxurious all-suites accommodations that incorporate sustainable, natural materials that complement the destination to the Dynamic Positioning System, Celebrity Expeditions have created a ship that truly differentiates between visiting this incredible corner of the world and experiencing it.

The new 100-guest Celebrity Flora is packed with industry firsts from the largest suites in the Galapagos, to clever anchor-less technology to reduce the environmental impact on the sea floor. Celebrity Flora joins the fleet in May 2019.

Outward facing design

The heralded infinite balconies introduced on Celebrity Edge will also be found on Celebrity Flora, with all suites designed to face outwards. 360-degree views can be found in The Vista and there is floor-to-ceiling glass in The Observatory. There is also a unique outdoor Stargazing Platform and a ship-board Marina that accommodates up to three Zodiacs at once to reduce transfer time to the Islands.

Maximising the destination

Expert naturalist presentations and educational research-based programming will give guests the chance to learn about the wildlife-rich region. Itineraries include seven night cruises navigating both the inner and outer Galápagos Islands which can be combined with land tours in Ecuador and Peru, including the Inca Trail.

All-suite accommodation

The all-suite ship has oversized bathrooms, and rooms with sustainable, natural and regionally inspired materials. Personal suite attendants deliver exceptional service. Two Penthouse Suites have both indoor and outdoor living areas and a telescope for star gazing and wildlife spotting. These are the largest suites to be found in the Galapagos.

Commitment to sustainability

Celebrity Flora is the most energy efficient ship operating in this precious region of the world. In-room water filtration systems reduce the need for plastic bottles and innovative technology converts sea water and air conditioning into pure, fresh water.

Celebrity Flora also features innovative outward facing design that makes the destination the centre of attention to create a definite connection between guests, the ocean, and the stunning islands.

By focusing the direction of spaces outward at every opportunity (including suites and even bathrooms), Celebrity Expeditions virtually erase the boundaries between ship and destination to create a sense of truly being in the destination, experiencing the destination, instead of just visiting it.
