British Cruise Industry Continues To Grow

In figures released today by CruiseBritain, more than 100 cruise ships visited the UK in 2012, and brought in a record number of 723,000 passengers on day calls, which equates to a rise of 11 percent on previous years. Last year also saw 962,000 passengers begin their cruise at a UK port, with 82% of those being British.

A total of forty-seven different cruise lines called at a UK port last year and, ventured on a number of excursions to explore coasts, castles, cities and spectacular countryside locations all within one visit.

It is expected that these figures will continue to increase during 2013.

Here at The Luxury Cruise Company, we feel that a voyage around the British Isles offers the cruise passenger the unique experience to sail to some of Britain's most popular and beautiful locations, and explore the regional culture of each fascinating destination.
