British Cruise Industry Continues To Grow

In figures released today by CruiseBritain, more than 100 cruise ships visited the UK in 2012, and brought in a record number of 723,000 passengers on day calls, which equates to a rise of 11 percent on previous years. Last year also saw 962,000 passengers begin their cruise at a UK port, with 82% of those being British. 

A total of forty-seven different cruise lines called at a UK port last year and, ventured on a number of excursions to explore coasts, castles, cities and spectacular countryside locations all within one visit. 

It is expected that these figures will continue to increase during 2013.
