Avalon Waterways to offer Amazon River Cruises

Premium river-cruise operator Avalon Waterways are to offer river cruises in Peru and along the Amazon, Yarapa, Yanalipa and Ucayali rivers in 2014.

The eleven-day cruise tour will begin with a variety of sightseeing opportunities in Lima, where guests will be able to visit the famous Larco Museum before flight to Cusco to visit the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu. On day seven, guests will be flown to Iquitos to join the 32-passenger Aria for a three night voyage.

During the cruise, guests will able to participate in a variety of activities including piranha fishing, dolphin, bird and monkey expeditions and visits to local villages and the Yanalipa Flooded Forest. Launched in 2011, Aria has sixteen, 250-square feet suites, all of which feature extra-large picture windows and plenty of the modern conveniences that you would find in a modern and stylish establishment ashore.
