American Queen prepares for the upcoming season

As part of the American Queen's scheduled refurbishment that is now taking place in New Orleans, guests will be able to view enhancements totalling more than $1.5 million dollars when she sails on her next voyage on February 23.

More than one hundred construction workers are currently dedicated to preparing the ship for her second season. All furniture in the public areas and suites are currently being re-upholstered or replaced in addition to renovations in the ships J.M. White Dining Room, where guests will now be greeted by a dramatic entryway made of marble and granite, new seating and an ornate mahogany wine wall, that has been designed to showcase a large selection of popular and boutique wines.

The former location of the Front Porch of America will now become the Front Porch Café, an elegant yet casual dining venue where guests can enjoy a light meal and relax on the outdoor deck and watch the river pass by.

The American Queen sails on a variety of voyage along the Mississippi River in association with Avalon Waterways.
