AmaMagna - New Video Released
The revolutionary AmaMagna will also enter service in May 2019 and will offer a unique river cruising experience. She will offer an unprecedented range of facilities including a choice of restaurants, Zen Wellness Studio and watersports platform as well as offering far more personal space than traditional river cruise ships.

AmaMagna will launch in 2019 on the Danube river, and will be Amawaterways largest ever ship, at twice the width of traditional European river ships – some 22 metres wide. View AmaMagna itineraries
AmaMagna will accommodate 194 guests and will offer luxurious living spaces, multiple dining options, an al-fresco glass-enclosed restaurant, more onboard activities, enhanced evening entertainment, a fuel efficient engine and – a first for river cruising – an open-water sports platform, complete with zodiac boats, canoes and recreational equipment.
AmaMagna will feature 98 standard staterooms – the majority of which will be over 300 square feet, some of the largest in river cruising, plus 4 suites and 1 Ama Owners Suite. Additional amenities include a large heated sundeck swimming pool with whirlpool and sky bar, a spacious spa area offering new treatments, a fitness room large enough for small group classes and generous common areas designed to accommodate a variety of onboard events. The new ship will also boast a quieter and more fuel efficient hybrid engine, offering fuels savings of up to 25 percent.
Personal Space on AmaMagna
Despite being double the width (and the same length) of other modern river cruise ships, AmaMagna will only accommodate an extra 40 guests (in comparison to their already spacious fleet), giving those on-board an unprecedented amount of personal space. AmaMagna’s 196 guests will be looked after by 70 crew.
Verandah Stateroom on AmaMagna
She will offer the most spacious and comfortable accommodation on the Danube with 53 suites ranging from an impressive 355 sq. ft. to a luxurious 710 sq. ft. - all offering full-width step out balconies. Each one will include a sizable marble bathroom, many boasting double sinks as well as a deluxe walk-in multi-jet shower and separate bath. There are an additional 34 Staterooms at 252 sq. ft. with full balcony and 11 Staterooms at 205 sq. ft. with large fixed windows.
AmaMagna will also feature a large, split-level lounge that will create an intimate area where guests can relax as they watch the scenery of the Danube go by.
AmaMagna Top Deck
A double-width ship means more space on the top deck. Guests can enjoy a large heated pool, whilst those looking to unwind can indulge in the whirlpool and gain access to a pop-up sky bar.
Dining on board AmaMagna
Fine dining remains a key part of the AmaWaterways’ experience and the AmaMagna is no different. All AmaWaterways’ ships currently offer a choice between the main restaurant and speciality ‘Chef’s Table’ where guests can watch a multi-course taster menu being prepared. AmaMagna will offer fine dining at a choice of four restaurants, with the new ship offering two additional options for those seeking even more variety:
‘Al Fresco’ will accommodate up to 35 diners. Located at the front of the ship and with retractable windows, the restaurant is expected to be a sought after dining option, whatever the weather.
Jimmy’s Wine Bar Restaurant
‘Jimmy’s Wine Bar Restaurant’ has been named after the late Mr. Murphy, one of AmaWaterways’ co-founders. Wine connoisseurs will revel in ; Wellness Studio complete with Juice bar and retractable windows, where guests will have the opportunity to participate in group classes focussed on stretching, cardio and circuit training – at no extra charge. More space has also been made available for salon services. The AmaMagna will offer two massage rooms and as well as hair styling and guests can treat themselves to a range of additional beauty treatments such as manicures and pedicures.
