Viking River Cruises sail the great rivers and waterways of Europe, Russia and China, visiting bustling cities, tranquil villages, historic sites and natural wonders. The company was founded in 1997 and in 2000 acquired KD River Cruises, a European company with more than 180 years of river cruising experience.
Viking Century Sun, together with her sister ship, is the most well appointed liner cruising the Yangtze River in China. It features all the amenities you would expect of a fine hotel, English-speaking staff, a Western kitchen and European management.

Viking Century Sun Dining
Meals are prepared by both European and Chinese chefs, while the Swiss hotel management team oversees the dining experience. A continental breakfast is complemented by some hot options, lunch includes soup, a salad/sandwich bar and choice of entrée and dessert, while dinner features a choice of entrée and a number of courses. Alongside these Western choices are family-style Chinese menus, designed by celebrity chef, Martin Yan.

Viking River Cruises provides onboard programmes for improving guests’ knowledge of the area in which they are sailing. These include lectures, demonstrations and themed dinners with regional specialities. Often a folkloric group may also come onboard to play guests traditional songs from the region.
All ships include a library and free wi-fi internet access across the ship, and for further entertainment, the crew will recommend shows and events taking place at each port. -
