Constellation Restaurant
Like everything else about Orion Expedition Cruises, the on-board cuisine is bold, elegant and world class. Award-winning chef Serge Dansereau, of The Bathers' Pavilion in Sydney, has put together a series of menus inspired by the culinary traditions of the regions visited, featuring the local produce and flavours. The menus have been designed to complement each other, allowing guests to sample a variety of dishes. Example dishes include red snapper with panzanella and basil aioli, tuna sashimi with softshell crab and rib eye steak with kipfler potatoes.
The broad range of wines has been selected to complement the dishes served and hail from boutique wineries and well-known vineyards across the world.
Dinner is served free of fixed table arrangements to allow flexibility. Alternatively, guests may choose to dine on deck under the stars.
The Leda Lounge and Cocktail Bar
The Leda Lounge and Cocktail bar is the social centre on board MV Orion. Located on Deck 4, the lounge comfortably accommodates all the guests and is the ideal place to get to know some of the other passengers on the exclusive adventure cruises. There is musical entertainment to enjoy in the evenings after dinner has been served.
MV Orion Vega Health Spa
The onboard Vega Health Spa offers guests the use of a dry sauna and an adjoining relaxation room. There is also a range of custom-designed spa treatments to revitalise the body and skin. These services include aromatherapy and massage treatments. The therapist practices a range of relaxing, invigorating and remedial massage techniques including Swedish, Lymphatic Drainage, Reflexology, Remedial, Sport Injury and Deep Tissue.
Guests are welcome to make use of the on shore massage facility when at anchor, to enjoy a relaxing and therapeutic massage in picturesque surroundings.
Jacuzzi Spa
Located on Deck 6, the Sun Deck provides a place for guests to relax on board. Centred on the Jacuzzi spa, there are several padded teak steamer chairs to enjoy under the sun.
Each cruise offers a selection of enrichment programmes and talks in order to enhance the cruise experience. Each is tailored to the specific cruise, so for example if the cruise destination is Melanesia then the talks about local cultures and traditions, wildlife or cuisine will be arranged accordingly. Talks take place in the 90-seat lecture theatre and are given by speakers and explorers selected for their knowledge and expertise on the relevant subjects.
