Cunard was the first company to make regular scheduled transatlantic crossings and can, therefore, claim to provide the first cruise service. Certainly its the name that evokes a sense of that golden age of ocean travel. Today, it maintains the reputation for providing the very best service and voyages and does so with the newest fleet at sea.
Queen Mary 2 lays claim to being the grandest ocean liner ever built. In all, there are 14 decks on which guests relax and unwind, each filled with opulent dining rooms, ballrooms, theatres and lounges. And while every detail is a reminder to glories past, the ship only embarked on its maiden voyage in 2004.

Princess Grill Restaurant
Tables here are reserved for those in Princess Grill suites, the ship’s second level of luxury. What’s more, the Grill restaurants have long been acclaimed as the finest dining experience at sea.
Britannia Club
The club-like private salon serves guests in the Britannia Club Balcony cabins. Special a la carte selections are available in addition to the Britannia Restaurant menu.
Britannia Restaurant
The Queen Mary 2’s main dining room is spread over three floors, allowing guests to make a regal entrance and sweep down the grand staircase.
Todd English
Serving Mediterranean cuisine from one of America’s leading chefs – Todd English received the Robert Mondavi Award for Culinary Excellence. Reservations required.
Kings Court
Serving a casual breakfast, lunch and late-night buffet, this restaurant transforms into four intimate dining venues in the evenings, serving Asian, British, Italian and chefs specialities. Reservations required.

Sir Samuel
During the day this venue is set up as a coffee bar, while in the evenings it is turned into a wine bar. Danish pastries and other treats are available at breakfast, while cheesecakes appear at teatime.
Boardwalk Café
Serving lunch in a casual atmosphere near the Sun Deck.
Queens Room
Serving a proper English Afternoon Tea, with scones, pastries and finger sandwiches.
There are numerous way for guests to entertain themselves when not on deck, including taking a traditional afternoon tea, exploring the art gallery, with works by 20th century masters like Dali, Chagall and Picasso, and learning ballroom dancing from the professionals.
Then there’s the library, bookstore and book club, for literary discussion, while writing workshops take place in the computer centre. Game players may like to spend time in the Monte Carlo-inspired Empire Casino or proving their skill at bridge and board games.
Or, if you just want to sit back and relax, head for one of the Cunard Insights lectures, to Iluminations for a virtual trip into space or to catch the latest movie or take in a play by the graduates of the Royal Academy of Dramatics Arts – with whom you can also join in a workshop. Also onboard are top boutiques, such as Harrods and Hermés, for the adults, and a play zone for the kids.
In the evenings, guests can wile away the hours in the Chart Room, listening to live jazz, in the Commodore Club, sipping martinis and listening to the tinkle of ivories, trying their luck in the Empire Casino, watching musicals and performers in the Royal Court Theatre, practising karaoke in the Golden Lion Pub, catching a move in Illuminations or simply having a coffee in Sir Samuel’s.
For the more extravagant, however, the Veuve Clicquot Champagne Bar, G32 nightclub or one of the Royal Nights’ spectacular themed balls in the Queens Room, might be more tempting.
Guests are invited to enjoy the Canyon Ranch SpaClub for massages, treatments and facials – from Stone Massage or Rasul Ceremony to Ayurvedic and Thai treatments. Meanwhile the salon is open for pedicures, makeovers and, of course, hairstyling. The AquaTherapy Centre and Thermal Suite accompany the rejuvenating spa services.
Onboard Queen Mary 2 guests can enjoy a large range of enrichment and lecture opportunities. Among them the chance to study renaissance art with a leading museum curator, study acting alongside the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, learn about oceanography and life in the sea, as well as discovering the secrets of the universe in the planetarium.
