Amawaterways is the leading European river cruise operator. Founded in 2002, the cruise line boasts the newest fleet sailing on Europe's the Danube, Rhine, Main and Mosel rivers. All Amawaterways ships have spacious staterooms and four-fifths of those have a private balcony. And, apart from the plush accommodation, the ships also contain a fitness centre, beauty salon, whirlpool, walking track and bicycles on which to explore the towns and villages passed on the way.

The MS Tolstoy is the most luxurious ship cruising Russia's rivers. Originally designed for high-ranking Kremlin officials and foreign dignitaries, the cruise liner remains one of the best ships in Russia, accommodating just 160 guests while other ships of a similar size carry twice as many. There's even an indoor pool with sliding sunroof.
