The basics: Regatta originally entered service in 1998 as the R Two for Renaissance Cruises, and re-entered the market in 2003 for Oceania Cruises. Insignia entered service in 1998 as the R One, and joined Oceania Cruises in 2004, and Nautica entered service in 1998 as the R Five, and started sailing in 2005 for Oceania Cruises.
The sister-ships in the Oceania fleet can carry 684 guests with 400 crewmembers. Oceania Cruises have considerably improved the vessels, by adding teak decking and teak deck-chairs, and enhanced the staterooms and suites, by introducing Tranquillity Beds and butler service to the top three suite grades.
We like
We love the décor that heralds back to 1920’s and 1930’s grand ocean liners, with wrought iron staircase railings, rich carpets and trompe l’oeil ceilings
What you should know
While the surrounding are formal, the style of dress is not, no tuxedos or ball gowns – country club casual is the dress code on board.
May we suggest
We recommend you visit the two smaller restaurants, the Polo Grill and Toscana – high up on deck ten as an alternative to the excellent Grand Dining Room. Please also note Oceania Cruises itineraries are varied and visit ports of call that the larger ships cannot access, and they have introduced a series of pre-bookable shore excursions that are exceptional value for money – we would recommend you book these before you travel, as they are not available on board.
Recommended for
Oceania Cruises are for couples that enjoy good food and style, with excellent service, set in an informal atmosphere.
