This was my first cruise, and I think I’ve been spoiled for most others. The cabins are faultless with wide, comfortable beds and varied lighting settings. The bathroom had a very decent power shower in a deep, wide bath, marble tops with toiletries from Aveda, which smelled delicious.
Dining on board was a real pleasure – the food was consistently excellent in variety and quality. We snacked on smoked salmon and tarts at the Bistro and Nobu Asian restaurant introduced me to some of the best food I’ve ever tasted - subtle, well thought out Asian cuisine (and I used to live in Hong Kong). I liked the fact that all meals onboard were included in the price, and wine and beer went on my final bill.
Ours was a Food and Wine themed cruise. I saw an entertaining and unpretentious cookery demonstration by a renowned American chef and there was a huge Asian buffet, plus wine tasting and talk by a French wine expert
There was much to do – painting, shore excursions, learning a few notes on the keyboard. My main pleasure was the top end service from every member of staff I met, and the seamless nature of the organisation – even though I was ill on board I had access to thousands of DVDs, CDs and meals from the Crystal Dining Room, and prompt and efficient medical care.
I'd like to give this 5 out of 5 in every category but I'm in my 30's so some of the entertainment was not to my taste or age range.
