Oceania Cruises newest luxury cruise ship, Riviera, will feature many works of art from some of Latin Americas most accomplished artists when she sets sail on her inaugural sailing in May 2012.

More than 1,000 pieces have been selected by Frank Del Rio, the CEO of Prestige Cruise Holdings, Oceania Cruises parent company, and is a nod to his Cuban heritage. Del Rio went to extraordinary lengths to ensure that Riviera was designed to showcase paintings, glassworks and sculpture that will spark conversation and contemplation.

Featured Cuban artists on Riviera include:-

  • Wifredo Lam
  • Cundo Bermudez
  • René Portocarrero
  • Servando Cabrera
  • Julio Larraz
  • Carlos Luna
  • Humberto Benitez
  • Manuel Mendive
  • José Grillo.

International artists include:-

  • Pierre Boncompain
  •  Luis Zesatti
  • Daniela Wicki
  • Eduardo Arranz-Bravo

Del Rio commissioned José Grillo to create a painting inspired by the title, "Yellow Submarine," which will be displayed outside Jacques restaurant and "El Caretas," which will be displayed by the reception desk of Riviera

Carlos Luna has several paintings throughout Riviera, and Miami artist Humberto Benitez was commissioned for several pieces in Horizons Lounge and for his sentinel piece, "The Feast," fittingly enough hanging in La Reserve, Riviera's gourmet dining venue.

Oceania Cruises offers unrivalled cuisine, luxurious accommodations, exceptional personalised service and extraordinary value. Award-winning itineraries visit more than 330 ports in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Asia, and the Americas aboard the 684-guest Regatta, Insignia and Nautica. The line's 1,250-guest Marina debuted in January 2011 and will be followed by Riviera - a sister ship - in May 2012.
