Just back from the UK's 4th ACE Cruise Convention at Southampton. Four days of ship visits, networking and conferencing, chaired by that stalwart of British travel - Judith Chalmers (who was so charming and lovely!). All really good and well done to the ACE team for organising such a wonderful event - over 800 people can't be easy to get all in the right place at the right time!
We saw NCL's new ship - Norwegian Epic - not really our sort of cruise ship however she was innovative and very large with an odd top-heavy profile. Also viewed P&O Cruises Azura which was actually very nice - sophisticated public rooms, very nice lunch onboard, nicely designed public rooms and the single cabins were very spacious - a move in the right direction for P&O - I would recommend Azura for couples who want a British cruise experience on a well designed ship.
The closing ceremony was onboard Celebrity Cruises Eclipse - sister ship to Equinox we saw last year. This ship does not disappoint - very well designed, great attention to detail, innovative dining and food, and I have to say - really great staff and crew. I would say that these Solstice Class of new ships from Celebrity Cruises are up there with the likes of Crystal Cruises - its hard to say it but just from my few hours onboard I was so impressed by the service levels and professionalism I would not hesitate to book someone on these ships. We saw a compilation of the sort of shows they put on - really some of the best entertainment I have ever seen at sea - jaw-droppingly good acrobatics and aerial work - singers and dancers too - really spectacular.
Thanks to Celebrity for hosting us and putting on a great show. Have you cruised on Celebrity Cruises and have you sailed on the Solstice class of ships? What are your thoughts? We would love to hear from you. View our video of Equinox on YouTube of her sister ship for an overview of these great ships, Celebrity Solstice, Equinox, & Eclipse.

| Comment | We have sailed with Celebrity many times, our favourite ship so far was Constellation but will see what Eclipse is like in Sept 2010. Very good service and food, we always book Concierge Class cabins for the extras. |
