Latest figures from the PSA show that some 1.62 million cruises were taken in 2010 by Brits - that's amazing and still the highest in the world next to our American cousins. But what is the most popular destination do you think? Yes 43% of all UK cruisers choose the Mediterranean as their cruise area of choice. 43%!! That's a lot of people heading to the Med! The Mediterranean is fine, don't get me wrong, but there are so many amazing places to cruise to, I can't help feeling people are missing out on other cruise destinations. Mind you - there are plenty of ships in that area to choose from, prices are good, you can cruise the Med year round, and it's only a short flight to many embarkation ports. My personal favourite cruising destination is the Far East and Indian Ocean - the scenery is amazing, the culture and food are so different from ours and the people are friendly too. But then there's South America and the Amazon....oh and the Polar Regions.....and don't forget European river cruising along the Danube and Rhine too!
Where is your favourite part of the world to cruise to? Do you keep returning to the Med?
