Seabourn Quest
6th June 2011
Monte Carlo - Monaco

The Seabourn Quest was docked in Monte Carlo and as we arrived from the airport, her white hull was gleaming in the bright Mediterranean sunshine. The harbour was full of luxury yachts and the sleek lines of the Seabourn Quest looked right at home amongst them. After a quick check in we were escorted to our suite - 507 - a Veranda Suite.

Of course the first thing you need to do when embarking any cruise ship is find somewhere to eat- so we headed to the Patio Grill for lunch. Here they were serving a variety of dishes, pizzas, gyros, swordfish kebabs, salads, plus the usual burgers, fries and hot dogs. We chose our dishes and sat by the pool, washing down our lunch with a lovely glass of chilled champagne! The quality of the food was excellent - even at this casual poolside grill, plus the ever-attentive Seabourn waiters made sure we were topped up with champagne.

After lunch it was time to explore the ship. Seabourn Quest is a sister ship to the Seabourn Odyssey and Seabourn Sojourn, so we knew our way around, and the same attention to detail and suburb finishing is apparent on this ship as it is her sisters.

After lifeboat drill it was time to get changed for the evenings festivities. We were on a hosted table tonight, with our UK Sales Manager Rebecca Lott. The menu was extensive - I went for twice baked goat cheese soufflé with a roasted garlic cream for first course, followed by a delicious lobster bisque with tarragon cream and baby artichokes. For the main course I could not resist the grilled lobster tail, with soft truffle gnocchi, oyster mushrooms, leek fondue, and Newburg sauce. Desert was served up on the Pool Deck at the Sailaway party as the ship was leaving port at 10pm. All the ships musicians and singers were up on a stage surrounding the pool to put on a great show. It was a fantastic atmosphere as we left Monaco and headed out to sea.
