A Very Happy Easter to all!

After last nights Easter Egg hunt around the ship, which took us about an hour and a half walking around the ship, I won!

There is a beautiful chocolate display in the Lido Buffet with huge chocolate eggs and bunnies!
Today we are in the port of Santa Cruz in Tenerife. Sadly as it is Easter Sunday, hardly anything is open and the weather is 18 degrees but cloudy.

So I headed out into the city and hopped on the City Sightseeing tour around. We went past a lot of beautiful buildings. There was a market on but the type of stuff there looked like a flea market. I also noticed nearby that there is a SeaWorld! If I had more time I would have gone there! Oh well, that is on my agenda for my next holiday!

I went for a stroll up one of the main streets and I went to McDonalds for a drink. There is more choice over here than in the UK for food and drinks, with 7 types of coffee served!

So it was back to the ship where I had a turkey roll with some wedges and a compulsory slice of Chocolate cake with my name on it! It is so hard to resist chocolate now! Especially as it is Easter!

After lunch I sat in the Garden Lounge and listened to the live band called "Nuvo" perform.
They consist of two men and women with one man on the keyboard, another on the guitar, a woman on the drums and the other is the main singer. They are extremely good and play at venues throughout the ship, including the Yacht Club every evening until early morning.

I then headed outside by the pavilon pool, deck C, midship. But sadly it started to rain for a while later on today with a few heavy outbursts. I would like to return to Santa Cruz de la Tenerife again in the future and explore more of the island.

Everyday at 3pm, the Afternoon Tea selection is available in the Lido Buffet... It's chaos!
Around 10-15 minutes prior to opening, a queue starts to build up around the buffet line and at precisely 3pm, there seems to be certain people filling their plates up with scones and cakes and others just pushing in! But it is all part of the fun! My tip is to wait until 3.30 as it is a little quieter then before, however from 4pm onwards, it gets busier again!
I visited the internet center on Deck 1, midships where I checked my emails for a while. Because I have sailed with Cunard before, I got 120 minutes of internet free. Otherwise it is $0.75 per minute!

I then headed back up to the Garden Lounge and then outside on Deck 10. As the time got further to our all aboard time of 5.30, there were continuous announcements made over the PA system calling out guests names who had obviously not returned back to the ship. Luckily they were all accounted for, at least, that is what we were all told!

At 1800 we thrusted off from our berth and sailed out of the harbour into the Atlantic bound for Gran Canaria, where we arrive tomorrow.

Tonight's dress code was Elegant casual, only second time so far this cruise.
in the evenings you can either dine at the restaurant to which you are assigned to when booking your stateroom, or you can dine in the Lido buffet. Each evening there is a different culinary theme on one side. However, each evening there is also either an Aztec, Asado or Jasmine theme (surcharge $10pp applies).
Pizza and Pasta are also available until 11pm.

Dinner again was taken in the Brittania Club and I was chatting to the Maitre'D a lot about working on board. He had worked on QE2, QM2, QV and now QE. He prefers QE as he said his fellow crew members are much more friendlier and he prefers the decor.

After dinner I went to see the west-end style show in the Royal Court Theatre. Tonights show starred the Queen Elizabeth Singers and Dancers and was called "A Slice of Saturday Night".

It was a very good show and after that it was back to the Golden Lion for the quiz and then bed!
