CUNARD QUEEN ELIZABETH CRUISE BLOG DAY 10

Good Afternoon!

Today we were in the port of Vigo in Spain.
We embarked the local pilot at 0815 and were allowed ashore from 0900.

I have been to Vigo twice before, previously on P&O's Ventura and the Celebrity Eclipse so I knew what to expect.

I went ashore with my parents around 1100 and as you exit the terminal there was a group of people advertising for people to try a Segway for 15 minutes for only 10Euros. This was something I could not refuse as I have always wanted to ride a Segway. It was a bit nerve racking at first as you use your upper body to steer. Stopping had to be the worst part as you think that you are going to fall off backwards!

It was a great experience and I thoroughly recommend it!
After the fun part, we boarded a tour bus which showed us some of the sights of Vigo. Something I had never done before. It was very informative and only cost 7Euro50 per person for the journey which lasted 90minutes.

After the tour, we walked through some of the old quarter where my Father sat down and tried some Oysters which were extremely fresh and he quoted that they were "Simply Delicious".

We then walked back towards the ship and stopped by at the A Laxe shopping center which is just outside of the cruise terminal. There are shops such as Desigual, Clarks, MediaMarkt and much more. There is also this chocolate shop where they make sculptures out of chocolate of figures such as Princess Tiana from Disney's Princess & the Frog or Superman.

It was then time to return back to the ship.
So I am now sitting on the lido deck and we are just about to slip our lines and set sail back to Southampton. Tomorrow is our final day at sea before we arrive in Southampton on Saturday.
The Royal Wedding will be shown in the Queens Room, Golden Lion Pub and Royal Court Theatre.

At 11pm tonight we will enter the Bay of Biscay with a good forecast with calm weather!

I will be back tomorrow with the final instalment from me on my daily blog aboard Queen Elizabeth.
