OUR OPINION

The basics

Viking Century Sun was built to accommodate 306 discerning travellers in 153 suites – all with balconies. Custom built to Viking River Cruises’ specifications and designed by internationally acclaimed naval architects Yran & Storbraaten, these five-deck deluxe cruise ships are the newest and best ships sailing China’s Yangtze River.

We like

The superb service given by the Chinese crew and staff is really exceptional, worthy of a 5-star cruise ship. Cabins are comfortable and the public rooms are spacious.

What you should know

Mostly Western food is served aboard ship, with one or two nights being Chinese cuisine – this works very well as you will eat local food during the daytime.

May we suggest

You get a good seat for the crew show on board – really excellent! Also take plenty of comfortable clothes, as there is a lot of walking involved.
