In February 2001 the Sea Cloud II became reality. Like no other ship, she combines the timeless elegance of windjammers of past with the highest safety standards and the luxurious comfort of modern cruise ships. Sailing romantics will be fascinated while on board, where the sails are set by hand – just as on her sister ship Sea Cloud.

By spring 2010, the new Sea Cloud Hussar will be launched as the third sailing ship. There is something very magical about exploring the islands of the Mediterranean Sea aboard a sailing yacht. Join your fellow guests for a voyage on Sea Cloud II and experience the elation of travelling under sail.

Relax, daydream, sunbathe or get lost in a book. Unwind or immerse yourself in conversation. On the lido deck enjoy a meal alfresco or sit at the bar for a cocktail. Also on this deck is a comfortable lounge, able to accommodate all guests, and the library, which also has email facilities.

Dress on board is casual, apart from the welcome and farewell dinners, and the dining room is open seating.

With selected themed travel options, the Sea Cloud II offers diverse itineraries, each an opportunity to rediscover the world. The ship is also an excellent choice for those planning a private charter or incentive travel.

The basics

Sea Cloud was built in 1931 as a private yacht – now fully restored, this four-masted barque is truly unique, having 30 full sails, 60 crew members and 64 guests. Sea Cloud II was built in 2001 and has a 157-foot main mast. She is 384 feet from bow to stern and is crowned with 24 white sail cloths. Sixty crew members look after 94 guests on board.

We like

The fact that the crew sail the ship ‘by hand’ giving you an authentic sailing experience. A mix of international guests gives the ships a cosmopolitan atmosphere.

What you should know

Even though Sea Cloud II is a masted sailing ship, remember that she is a thoroughly modern ship, complete with sauna and fitness area, swimming platform, bars, restaurant, library lounges and a boutique. There are no balcony cabins on board.
