EUROPEAN WATERWAYS BACKGROUND

Since 1974, European Waterways has been providing high quality cruises on its fleet of “floating boutique hotels” across Europe to the discerning traveller.Each fully crewed vessel cruises the inland waterways of nine European countries giving you the opportunity to experience life there for a unique perspective.

On each all-inclusive cruise, your “floating boutique hotel” glides gently as you relax and enjoy gourmet cuisine, fine wines and the company of your fellow passengers. Also included in the European Waterways experience are guided tours to castles, vineyards and markets, lead by local experts.

Guests can expect an intimate cruise experience since each vessel accommodates between six and twenty guests and are able to use bicycles to cycle alongside at many destinations.

Anjodi information

Anjodi


Anjodi, a classic Dutch design, has been completely refurbished in traditional African hardwoods, hand-crafted panelling and shining brass and evokes a delightful atmosphere reminiscent of a classic yacht.



Athos information

Athos


Athos, a 103 feet long hotel barge, accommodates 10 passengers in five comfortable, air-conditioned cabins. Originally built in 1964 to transport sand, gain and wine, she was converted in 1982.



Enchante information

Enchante


Enchante is tastefully furnished in exotic hardwoods, features a large, spacious  aloon and fantastic facilities such as a demonstration galley, for guests to view the chef, internet connection and sound system.



L'Art de Vivre information

L'Art de Vivre


L'Art de Vivre, formerly a Scottish cargo barge was converted into a luxury barge to cruise the canals of Burgundy. Onboard guests can enjoy the sun deck, spa pool and comfortable saloon and dining room.



L'Impressionniste information

L'Impressionniste


L'Impressionniste, formerly a Dutch cargo barge, has been transformed into a powerful canal and river cruiser. The interior is light and airy, featuring picure windows and select prints, fabrics and wall colourings.



La Belle Epoque information

La Belle Epoque


La Belle Epoque is a state-of-the-art luxury hotel barge, which cruises Burgundy's canals. Designed with elegance and comfort in mind, the barge features a sundeck, spa pool and always-open inclusive bar in the wood-panelled saloon.



La Nouvelle Etoile  information

La Nouvelle Etoile


La Nouvelle Etoile offers a very high level of comfort and convenience for curises through Germany, Holland, Belgium and France. The spacious saloon, dining area and cocktail bar feature a warm teaek interior with elegant furniture, while the 200 sq. ft. suites are lavishly equipped with the amenities of a top hotel room.



Magna Carta information

Magna Carta


Magna Carta is one of the most luxurious barges cruising Britain's waterways. Fine mahogany, teak and oak woods are used throughout to create a warm ambience.



Napoleon information

Napoleon


Napoléon pampers her 12 guests in luxuriously large staterooms, each with an en suite bathroom. The fabulous saloon features a piano, stereo and TV, while the sundeck boasts a spa pool.



Nymphea information

Nymphea


Nymphea features a shallow draft making it ideal for navigating the sandy reaches of the River Cher in the Loire Valley.



Renaissance information

Renaissance


Renaissance, originally built in Spitz, Belgium, was converted to a hotel barge in 1999 and then extensively refitted in 2009 to delight the most discerning travellers.



Rosa  information

Rosa


Rosa, an old Dutch Clipper barge, was completely refitted in 2010 to a high specification, with attractive wood panelling, comfortable seating and snug bar.



Savoir Faire information

Savoir Faire


Savoir Faire, originally built in 1932, provides luxury barge cruises in France, Belgium and Holland.



Scottish Highlander information

Scottish Highlander


Scottish Highlander was converted from a Dutch trading barge to a luxury hotel barge in 1999 and today evokes the atmosphere of a Scottish country house, with subtle tartan furnishings and landscape paintings.



Shannon Princess II information

Shannon Princess II


Shannon Princess II is the only luxury hotel barge cruising Ireland's waterways. Carrying 10 passengers down the River Shannon, she has a comfortable interior with panoramic windows.

The gastronomy, wines, open bar, very attentive crew and knowledgeable tour guides, in additon to the intimate and relaxed atmosphere onboard.

What you should know

Do take advantage of the bikes on board. Some vessels have spa pools and theme cruises are also available. Please enquire for more details.

Chateaux and Chablis

A few months after returning from this idyllic, slow, slow voyage on board L Impressioniste, the painterly images were as clear as ever: I can see the tranquil, tree-lined towpaths, feel the warmth of spring sunshine and re-live the taste of exquisite cheese and wine on board this charming hotel-barge.

I had the dubious pleasure of cruising on the Rhine aboard the A Rosa Aqua from the 6th Aug. 2011 to 13th Aug.2011. When purchasing the cruise we were under the impression the cruise would be bi-lingual.My friend and I are Irish.
